Proteq is heat processed to ensure the highest quality clean bedding is delivered to your stables. Specifically developed for the Equine industry, Proteq has superior benefits in comparison to traditional bedding. Its ease of use, super absorbency and health benefits to horses means that you and your stabled mates will be very happy using Proteq.

The wood pellets are made from softwood sourced from well-managed FSC accredited sustainably managed plantations, which makes Proteq environmentally friendly. Proteq is an all-natural product that is hygienically clean and super absorbent ensuring a healthy long-lasting alternative to shavings, rice, paper or straw bedding.

Our baled pine woodshavings are suitable for use as a bedding litter in horse stables, chicken nests and sheds, calf sheds and other types of animal enclosures. Our standard bale weighs approximately 14kg and provides approximately 0.18 cubic metres of uncompressed volume. The benefits are:

Kiln dried for better absorbency

The woodshavings are a by-product from the timber milling process and have been kiln dried to achieve a moisture content of between 8% and 13%.

All-natural product

The shavings are all natural and free of any chemical additives.

Screened & Dust Extracted

All shavings go through a screening process to remove the smaller particles and sawdust, thus providing very good absorbency.

Clean & hygienic

As we are located onsite with a timber mill, the shavings are transferred directly from the timber milling process into our baling equipment. This eliminates the use of trailers and by doing so eliminates risk of contaminants in our shavings.

HIGHLY ABSORBENT
MiniHemp® is capable of absorbing far more moisture than either straw or wood shavings and any wet areas that have to be removed are small by comparison. It makes for a warm and comfortable bed that provides good insulation against the cold and protection against injury.

LOW ODOUR
MiniHemp® also absorbs ammonia very efficiently, reducing its harmful effects on the respiratory system and reduces odour.

LABOUR SAVING
MiniHemp® is quick and easy to maintain, staying drier and lasting longer than conventional materials. It should be disturbed as little as possible, with the wet material removed as required.

CONVENIENT
MiniHemp® is supplied in watertight heat-sealed polythene bales, which are convenient to handle and can be stored inside or out.

DUST EXTRACTED
Dust and spores are extracted from MiniHemp® to provide a cleaner stable environment. This is particularly important for animals with a respiratory disease, but also helps to prevent such problems from developing. MiniHemp® is regularly batch tested for dust and spore counts by an independent laboratory.

EASY DISPOSAL
MiniHemp® is biodegradable and decomposes into quality compost within just a few weeks as it originates from an annual plant.

ECONOMICAL TO USE
Less MiniHemp® is needed to do the same job as other materials. With its high absorbency, wet areas tend to be smaller and noticeable less often. It is easy to use and cost effective.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
MiniHemp® is made from a sustainable source and is completely biodegradable.
